Starting programs to help educate those within prisons is only beneficial to society. The cause of many people from low-income communities being incarcerated is often the system, and the bias within. Instead of incarcerating people from low-income communities because they cannot afford parole or bail, programs to provide job training should instead be put in place. These programs should extend to prisons as well, in order to provide economic opportunities for those who are seeking to have a better place in society and work.
The negative effects of the criminal justice system on low-income communities are often unforgiving because the system often ties them up forever. Even after being released from prison many often are in debt due to fees they could not afford before being incarcerated.
