My reaction to this weeks learning is heartbroken. The article written by The Marshall Project opened my eyes even more as to how challenging the system can be to get out of for some. Some of the men in the article are doing everything possible to make a better life for themselves yet are unable because of the restrictions placed on them as well as racism from others.
I would like to do more research on the effect being in prison has on mothers as well as if they have the same child support responsibilities as the father if the child is not in the mothers care.
