Week 9 Post 3 - Not a Crime to Be Poor By Peter Edelman

My reaction to this weeks learning is intrigued. Hearing the stories of those fighting back against a broken system inspires me to want to begin doing the same. It is heartbreaking to read the stories of what goes on in this book,  and beginning to read what people are doing to help is inspiring.
My questions for this week include:
What happened in Philadelphia? Were they able to collect all the debt?
How many people in Iowa on average get their license suspended?

    1. I found an article by the Des Moines Register in 2016 stating the Iowa DOT typically revokes 140,000-160,000 licenses annually (half of these are suspensions because of nonpayment court debts).
