Despite a Supreme Court case in place protecting people with low-incomes from high fines in the criminal justice system, it still occurs creating a system that is inescapable. Since the 1990s, sky-high fees have been crated as well as higher fees for minor infractions. Inability to pay high fees on time can result in jail time and more fees that come along with it. Not only this, but judges are quick to suspend drivers licenses as a punishment, even if the crime was not at all related to driving. This results in more than 75% of people driving despite their license being suspended, often because they have no other choice if they want to continue working or caring for themselves and children.
This relates to the psychology of criminal justice because judges may use stereotypes when deciding a defendants ability to pay. It is impossible to find a defendants income from asking questions such as: do you smoke? or do you have cable tv?

Work on paragraph two so that it begins with a topic sentence and does not use "this relates".
